1. Introduction

Welcome to Château Équilly. By accessing this website and making a reservation or enquiry, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. These terms apply to all guest room bookings, event reservations, wedding hires, and use of the château grounds and facilities.

2. About the Property

Château Équilly is a bed and breakfast property located in Normandy, France, offering guest accommodation, gardens, private events, weddings and related hospitality services.

3. Bookings

Bookings may be made directly through our website or via approved third-party platforms.

All reservations are subject to availability and confirmation.

Guests must provide accurate and complete information at the time of booking.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel bookings where fraudulent, inappropriate, or unlawful activity is suspected.

4. Payment

Payment terms may vary depending on the type of reservation.

For guest room stays:

  • Full payment or a deposit may be required at the time of booking.
  • Remaining balances must be paid before arrival or upon check-in.

For weddings and private events:

  • A non-refundable deposit is required to secure the booking date.
  • Final balances must be paid within the agreed timeframe stated in the event contract.

All prices are displayed in Euros (€) unless otherwise stated.

5. Cancellation Policy

Guest Rooms

Cancellation terms for accommodation bookings are as follows:

  • Free cancellation up to 10 days before arrival.
  • Cancellations made after this period may incur partial or full charges.
  • No-shows will be charged the full booking amount.

Weddings & Events

Deposits for weddings and private events are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Cancellation charges may apply depending on the notice period provided.

6. Check-In & Check-Out

Check-in: from 3pm
Check-out: by 11am

Early check-in or late check-out may be available upon request but cannot be guaranteed.

7. Use of the Property

Guests and event attendees are expected to behave respectfully and responsibly throughout their stay.

The following are prohibited:

  • Excessive noise
  • Illegal activity
  • Damage to property or gardens
  • Behaviour that disturbs other guests or neighbours

We reserve the right to ask guests or attendees to leave the property if these conditions are breached.

8. Weddings & Private Events

Separate agreements may apply for weddings, receptions, photo shoots, corporate events and exclusive hire.

Clients are responsible for:

  • Ensuring suppliers comply with safety regulations
  • Obtaining any necessary insurance
  • Any damage caused by guests, suppliers, or contractors during the event

Outdoor events may be affected by weather conditions. While we will make reasonable efforts to assist, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted outdoor use.

9. Gardens & Grounds

The Château gardens and grounds are accessible at guests’ own risk.

Children must be supervised at all times.

Certain areas of the property may be restricted for safety, maintenance, or private use.

10. Liability

While we take reasonable care to ensure guest safety and comfort, Château Équilly shall not be held liable for:

  • Loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings
  • Injury caused by misuse of the property
  • Delays or cancellations caused by circumstances beyond our control, including severe weather, strikes, or force majeure events

11. Photography & Media

We may occasionally take photographs during events or within public areas of the property for promotional purposes.

If you do not wish to appear in such material, please notify us in writing.

Professional photography or commercial filming requires prior written permission.

12. Website Use

All website content, including photographs, branding, logos and written materials, remains the property of Château Équilly unless otherwise stated.

Users may not copy, reproduce, or distribute website content without permission.

13. Privacy & Data Protection

Personal data collected through this website is processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

14. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of France.

Any disputes arising in relation to these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the French courts.
